I thought this was a rare plant but when I looked for it, it was in the woods behind my house and found on every hike within 5 miles of my home. I made a tincture using 6 ounces of chopped plant in 500ml of 151 proof everclear and will wait 6 weeks to try. I dried another ounce in my food dehydrator and ground up for tea but could find no information on dosage so I used 1/4 ounce of Indian pipe tea in 8oz of filtered water boiled for 3 minutes and simmered for 10. It is delicious and so far (drank 1 hour ago) no adverse effects. I have a torn meniscus in my right knee which has been quite painful until about 20 minutes after drinking this tea. Now, the pain is dulled and isolated. It just doesn’t seem to matter and certainly isnt dominant. Once 24 hours have passed without adverse effects, I intend to try a stronger tea. I harvested only the stalk and flower but not the root and only took a few plants from the cluster. If anyone has info on tea dosage, I would appreciate it. I’ve read that tincture dosage for extreme pain is 1 to 3ml 2 to 3 times a day
